About PG Tutors

We are a community of creative, knowledgeable, and flexible educators, who provide personalized and individualized tutoring sessions that fit the needs of your learner. We offer homework support, concept development, and test preparation to help students excel in math and sciences.

Who We Are

PG Tutors is led by two BC certified teachers with experiences in education from across the world. Founded in 2021, PG Tutors was built on two visionary pillars:

  1. Providing students with an atmosphere of comfortable and safe learning so that we help build happy and successful students who are confident in their skills.
  2. Providing professional and developing experts opportunities to express their passion for science and education in a way that builds the community.

PG Tutors require masks be worn for all students and tutors during tutoring sessions if they take place at home, in keeping with the provincial mandate. Online tutoring via Zoom will also be available.

Meet the creators of PG Tutors

Ryan Chowdhry

Ryan’s extensive experience in tutoring, education, math, and physics has led him to developing a strategic and flexible approach to learning. Ryan’s vision is to extend this approach to every student in Prince George and beyond.

Jocelyn Chowdhry

Jocelyn’s true passion lies in curriculum development and building fundamental skills to better prepare students for higher education. Jocelyn’s vision is to build a plan for success for every student she comes across.

Meet Our Tutors

Zach

Zach is a second-year physics student at the University of Alberta. He grew up in Prince George and attended Duchess Park where some of his teachers helped him realize his passion for physics. Zach's goal as a tutor is to help clients develop the skills and conceptual understanding to make physics a more approachable subject. Zach’s current field of interest lies in cosmology.

Shakera

Shakera is a second year Environmental Engineering student, originally from Bangladesh. She has multiple years of experience as an math teacher at ALOHA International math academy. She is very familiar with handling rigorous academic courses and her greatest strength is trying different approaches to concepts until she finds the one that best suits her students.

Connor

Connor is a third-year physics and math student. Developing a passion for mathematics and philosophy in high school, he decided to study physics as it felt like a happy medium between the two subjects. Connor's extensive experience allows him to deconstruct and piece together material so that his students gain appreciation for the intricacies and the big picture of every problem.

Jarrod

Jarrod is a 5th year physics student who just completed a diploma in mechatronics engineering. Throughout high school, he fell in love with physics and mathematics, and found his love for engineering, which eventually lead him to his current field of study. He enjoys working through complex problems and seeing how he can use applications to help further the understanding of those around him.

Rachel

Rachel is a Queen’s University graduate in Mechanical Engineering. In addition to many years of experience as a tutor and TA, she has six years of practical experience as a mechanical engineer. As a tutor she enjoys helping students view concepts from a different perspective. Rachel has experience in working with students who are preparing for their interprovincial exam.

Sam

Sam is a UNBC MSc graduate in Biochemistry. She has years of teaching and tutoring experience in sciences at grade school and university levels. Her instructor and tutor experience includes working to develop educational programs catered to the BC science curriculum. She understands that all students learn differently and has experience adapting tutoring styles that best fit each individual.

Katy

Katy is a second year engineering student at UNBC. She grew up in the Okanogan and Calgary, and has spent time tutoring her own siblings before deciding to do it professionally. Katy developed an interest in engineering while taking design courses in high school. She enjoys explaining things and solving puzzles.

Catherine

Catherine is a fourth-year physics and mathematics student who developed a love for mathematics through high school and really discovered her passion during her first-year mechanic’s class. To share her love of the field, Catherine got involved with the Physics Student Association and is their current president.

Mattaya

Mattaya is a second year environmental engineering student at UNBC. Mattaya completed AP course through high school, which sparked an interest in engineering, and gave her plenty of opportunities to help her peers. She enjoys solving problems in math and physics and is enthusiastic in helping others do the same.
